Legal

Kelly Dobbins is considered an expert witness in the Courts of the tri-state area.  MSDT routinely trains attorneys and employers for continuing education and reasonable suspicion/cause testing.

We provide continuing legal education for attorneys. This includes doing CLE’s, going to conferences, and being available to answer any questions you have regarding drug testing.

Testimony

Mid-South can be your expert witness in the courts of Tennessee, Missouri, Mississippi, and Arkansas. Expert Testimony is comprised of drug and alcohol testing procedures, certification of test results and interpretation of results.

In May 2023, the Drug and Alcohol Testing Industry Association (DATIA) merged with the National Drug and Alcohol Screening Association (NDASA) to form the largest national industry group for drug and alcohol providers.  Kelly Dobbins currently serves on the NDASA Board of Directors.

Education and Training

Training includes participating in conferences for additional knowledge and educating on drug and alcohol issues.  Training may also include collector training (urine, oral fluid, hair) as well as breath alcohol device training.

Supervisor Training/ Reasonable Suspicion Training

Supervisor and reasonable suspicion training for supervisors, employers, school principals/teachers, and more- this teaches people how to spot when someone is behaving or appearing under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol and how to document NOT diagnose said behavior.

Professional collector training for urine, hair, oral fluid/saliva. We train on hair testing by having a supervisor teach our employees how to cut a sample of hair for the test followed by being present in the room with the collector until they feel comfortable enough to do it alone. Urine and oral fluid collectors have to go through training and successfully pass a test each year and mock collections every five years. Collectors who become trainers have more extensive testing.

Professional Collector Training
Breath Alcohol Technician Training

Evidential Breath Testers (EBT) vary, and collectors must be trained on any alcohol device that they use. BAT's also go through in person or online training and mock collections.
